St. John's Wort is a flowering plant native to Europe known for its ##nootropic## properties, specially nootropic ones, which come from the active compound hyperforin. Why be Careful

St. John’s Wort can have critical interactions with a large number of other medications. These interactions can result in blocking the effects of cancer medications, heart medications, blood thinners, antidepressants, birth control pills, and HIV drugs. Side effects include sensitivity to sunlight, gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, sexual dysfunction, anxiety, and dry mouth. This herb has so many interactions because it uses a metabolic pathway called cytochrome 450, which is the most important group of ##enzymes## in the body, because it is responsable for breaking down everything, from food to drugs.
