Well-being is not just the absence of disease or illness. It’s a complex combination of a person’s physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. There are some lifestyle changes and natural products that can be very effective in that.

An improvement in well-being was noted to be secondary to a reduction in anxiety symptoms in patients.
The increase in well being appears to be quite large, but secondary to reducing anxiety. a minimum of one study has noted that, in healthy persons subject to a minor stressor (testing) that kava enhanced cheerfulness.
There appears to be a rise in well being and happiness in persons who either have a disease state treated (ie, better glycemic control in diabetes or less erectile dysfunction) and this might also apply to acute usage of 400mg ginseng during acute mental stress. In an unstressed and healthy person, ginseng is unlikely to possess benefit.
The trend seems to suggest that it can improve subjective well-being secondary to a discount in fatigue. One study found a discount in self-ratings of subjective well-being, and potentially a rise in fatigue.
Although the evidence is mixed currently, zinc has been previously related to an improvement in mood state and has mechanisms by which it can work. It likely features a small but positive influence.
